We are excited to announce that the 2027 Easter Meet will be held at

Sawston Village College, New Road, Sawston, Cambridgeshire, CB22 3BP

from Fri 26th to Wed 31stMarch 2027.

Your joint Co-Ordinators together with Nat and Lorna have recently visited the school and clarified a number of matters. We find it always helps to be able to visualise the school when planning and of course to personally meet those persons who will have a direct impact upon our stay there. We have to say that the staff there could not have been more welcoming and definitely have a "can do" approach to our stay.

The majority of the Meet will be housed in a new building currently being constructed and scheduled to be opened for the pupils' use in January 2027. The build is apparently on schedule if not a little in advance so they are confident all will be ok for our Meet! Viv and Trevor will revisit the school again in the New Year specifically to look at the new building and to see how it can best be utilised at Easter. All those who have kindly offered to run workshops / craft activities / dances etc please make sure your Co-Ordinators are aware if you have any requirements / preferences for the space you will want to use so that we can try ("try" being appropriate - no guarantees!) to plan for your wishes. We are excited to be the first outside organisation to use the facility with all the latest equipment (including a lift)!

We have also now secured the use of a self-contained shower and toilet block, again a facility in the process of being built as part of the current construction. The block, not technically part of the school, is situated on the perimeter of the camping field next to the school and therefore easily accessible to all those camping on the field.  It will be  available 24 hours a day for the whole Meet from the minute you arrive until you leave. As it is a new build it should be much more comfortable and useable that the rather "tired" facilities we've experienced more recently.

We are starting to talk to various people in preparation for the planning of the Meet.  Many thanks to those who have sent in the registration forms to lead a workshop / activity, it is really helpful to have that information available. Please if you have not yet offered to run an activity or workshop, lead a band or MC and wish to, please let us know and complete the form, this will help us organise a complete and integrated Meet for all to enjoy.

We have already started to receive a few completed workshop forms, so keep them coming in to fdsgeaster@gmail.com whether you wish to lead a workshop, call for dancing, lead or play in a band. Set out what you can offer or any other suggestions. You can either email us or ask the wonderful co-ordinators for the workshop form. They are as follows:-
