This page contains information about the nationally arranged meets. Most meets are organised locally and are found under the areas link.
Now that our wonderful Spring Festival is over (just the recovering to do!) our next national event is the Summer Gather at CockShutt in Shropshire, to be held Thursday 26th. June to Tuesday 1st. July. This is being coordinated by our North West Area. The area has also arranged a follow-on meet (this is simply a meet that is usually fairly close and timed so that it opens as the previous one closes, allowing people who are travelling some distance to make a longer holiday out of it).
There will be a dances and workshops throughout the meet, plus, of course, the Folk Group’s exciting Annual General Meeting (Saturday 28th. at 2pm) followed by a members meeting where discussions can help set future directions! Every member of the Camping and Caravanning Club is very welcome to come and camp with us, and join in with all the activities, but only members of the folk group can savour the special delights of the AGM! If you are travelling some distance to this meet, and are free to stay longer in the area, the North West Area is organising another meet at Upton Magna starting on Tuesday 1st July so people can move directly from on meet to another. Fuller details on the North West website. Remember that if there are changes or important notices (eg traffic works in the area), the area pages will probably be updated more quickly than this site,
Do remember that these events are only the very few that are organised centrally, typically four a year: the Winter Residential, The Spring Festival, The Summer Gather and the Autumn Gather(traditionally with a special emphasis on crafts). The vast majority of our exciting and vibrant activities are organised by individual areas, and publicised through their websites which ensures details are up to date and can react to local circumstances.
